ABOUT US

You’re in control of your starting point

We’re different to other universities because we’re open to people based on their potential rather than their prior qualifications.
Most of our courses have no formal entry requirements and our students come from a diverse range of educational backgrounds. So, we offer a choice of starting points depending on how confident you are in your study skills.

You can either dive straight in with a level 1 module, or you might prefer a gentler start with some extra preparation, in which case, an Access module is ideal. You just need to live in AFRICA, Channel
Islands, Isle of Man, or have a British Forces Post Office address.

Study that fits into your life

We’ve been experts in distance learning for over 5 years. Our flexible style of learning means you can study where and when you choose, to fit in around jobs, families and other commitments. 76% of watt students work full or part-time.

Affordable payment options

We try to make WATT E School study as affordable as possible, and in many cases you can study an Access module for free. Find out more about fees and funding on pages 4–5.

Vision Statement

The WATT E-School of Languages will become a premier provider of electronically delivered courses and degree programs based on the University’s core values, its strategic imperatives, and the guiding principles of any time – anywhere, student-focused, and learning-centered education.

Mission Statement

We provide low-income students who are qualified to go through the University Diploma/Degree programmes.

We eliminate the college application information gap by matching our Applicants with students from top colleges who guide them through the University application and financial aid process via our interactive online platform.

Goals

As the coordinating entity for WATT E-School of Languages, staff and volunteers within the Office of Distance Learning are working to create high quality hybrid and online learning experiences for students over the coming academic years through Edmodo App.

This work is being guided by a shared vision (see above) and these primary program goals:

  • Offer educational opportunities to students unable to accommodate a traditional class schedule.
  • Ensure the technology used is appropriate to the nature and objectives of the academic programs.
  • Expand educational opportunities in a financially responsible manner through synchronous and asynchronous electronic learning.
  • Provide technical training to University faculty in the use of e-learning instructional techniques and in the use of associated technologies.
  • Facilitate student success in distance learning courses and programs by providing and promoting an environment of equal opportunity.

We have made all reasonable efforts to ensure that the
